The Area
SETE is the town on Mont St Claire - once an island but now joined to the mainland. It
sits on the Mediterranean coast in the Languedoc-Roussillon region approximately 1/2
hour from Montpellier and its airport. Travel from Montpellier to Sete is very easy by
train or bus (trains run very frequently and are inexpensive) and Sete has an excellent
local bus service which means you can get around easily without having to take your own
vehicle or hire one. The ?island? is laced by canals which cut through in several
directions from the Etang de Thau in the west, to the Mediterranean ? it is not
called ?Little Venice? for nothing! Sete is an ancient shipping and fishing port both
of which are still very much in operation today. Local fisherman can still be seen
unloading their catch to supply local restaurants. Sete is a lively town even in the
winter (unlike many places in France) and benefits from over 15km of fabulous beaches
stretching to Cap D?Agde.

The Apartment
Situated close to the centre of town and fronted by a small delightful park. It
accommodates 2-4 people and comprises:- Double Bedrooom with bedside tables and lamps,
chest of drawers, hanging rail, hot/cold fan heater. Large Living/Dining room with a
double sofa bed, armchairs, dining table & 4 chairs, large dressser, radio/CD/cassette
player. Fully equipped Kitchen with a range of cupboards, dishwasher, microwave, small
cooker, fridge, coffee maker. Large Bathroom (shower only), toilet, handbasin, washing
machine and free standing shelf/hanging unit, clothes basket and clothes airer, oil
radiator heater. 20ft x 4ft south facing Balcony accessed by double doors from the living
room The apartment is fully equipped with bed linen, towels, tea towels, vacuum cleaner,
and all other cleaning tools & materials. Ironing table & iron, shopping trolley & bag,
balcony & beach parasol, 2 beach mats, 2 airbeds, games, books, CD'S and cassettes,
sewing materials, torch, maps, etc.

How to get to Sete
FLYING: The nearest airport to Sete is Montpellier. Other convenient airports are Marseille, Perpignan, Nice and Barcelona. You can make the onward journey from all these destinations to Montpellier by train as well as car-hire. RYANAIR - Stanstead to Montpellier, Marseille, Perpignan, Nice and Barcelona BA ? Gatwick to Montpellier, Nice, Barcelona EASYJET ? Bristol/Stanstead to Nice, Barcelona, This list is by no means complete and flights to all these and other possible destinations can be checked online. With low cost airlines the costs are lower the earlier you book. RAIL An alternative method of getting there is by Eurostar from Waterloo to Lille ? platform change only (Paris involves a change of station) - then TGV to Montpellier.
