The Area
Faysselle is in the beautiful unspoiled region of Lot-et-Garonne in South West France,
which has been largely undiscovered by many tourists. Gently rolling hills are covered
in fruit blossom in the springtime and turn to gold in the summer with acres of
sunflowers. The climate is delightful with early springs, long hot summers and mild
autumns. Pretty bastide villages steeped in the history of the Hundred Years War are
dotted through the area. Village squares virtually unchanged through the years are an
ideal spot for resting with a coffee or glass of wine before ambling through the markets
with their tempting displays of fruit, vegetables cheese and local produce. The area is
particularly famous for its duck, foie gras and prunes (and if you only remember prunes
from school dinners, wait until you have tried them soaked in Armagnac!!)

Things to Do
Tennis, golf and horse-riding are within easy reach and there are a number of 'leisure
lakes' closeby with 'beaches'. The Park Walibi theme park in Agen is a fun day for all
the family, as is Arc-en-Ciel near Fumel - an adventure park with activities to suit the
timid and the daredevil alike! Other trips include Moissac with its cathedral and
splendid cloisters, the beautiful villages of Penne d'Agenais and Pujols, Agen with its
magnificent aquaduct over the River Garonne, Nerac, Cahors..........too many to mention
really!
