The large town of St Jean d'Angely is twenty minutes away and boasts markets selling local produce, an indoor pool and a theme park with its own boating lake. Poitiers (Futurescope), the historic towns of Angouleme, Cognac, Saintes and the picturesque seaside resorts of Royan and La Rochelle are within easy reach for day trips.
