Second year of business 2006
Well, 2005 was a great success and we were fully booked from June through to mid- September. We hope you will join us for our second year when we will have two cottages available. Each cottage has a private terrace and garden with its own cherry tree, strawberries and raspberries as well as a profusion of flowers and shrubs. The landscaping of the site will continue this autumn/winter and we will be adding more trees and hedging and a shady pergola for the swimming pool area.

Location, Location, Location....
Set in the gently rolling countryside, just 20 minutes from the coast, there is plenty to see and do: La Rochelle, Cognac, Saintes, Rochefort, the rivers Charente and Boutonne. The grounds extend to 3 acres, with a beautiful 10x5 metre swimming pool, fully enclosed for safety. There is plenty of room for football or cricket matches with the neighbouring holidaymakers, and plenty of sunloungers and outdoor furniture to make sure that you enjoy the full benefits of the marvellous climate.

Organic eggs, fruit and veg. available
Let your children learn where food really comes from, as they pet the geese, ducks and chickens and help collect fresh organic, free-range eggs for breakfast. Pick cherries, plums or apricots from the trees and feast on our organic home-grown veg. Depending on the season there is a year-round harvest of fresh fruit, vegetables and nuts to enjoy from our organic potager (vegetable garden).

Eco-friendly holidays
The barns have been renovated using traditional building techniques and in many cases, reclaimed cut-stone from demolished cottages. We have a completely organic approach to fruit and vegetable growing and our hens, geese and ducks are free range. The commune of St. Crepin was the first to have a wind-farm installed in Poitou Charentes and you can visit these magnificent structures, the nearest of which is a short stroll from the property.

A wildlife haven
The area is a haven for nature lovers and bird watchers. This is an agricultural community and the local farm life revolves around sunflowers, dairy herds and maize. These three products provide an ideal environment for birds and wild-life with plenty of land left idle each year. The bird life includes guaranteed sightings of nesting storks, 3 species of heron, hoopoes, stone curlews, buzzards, marsh and hen harriers, as well as the more common black redstarts, tits, warblers, goldfinches and wagtails. The luckiest and most patient bird watchers will also enjoy the rare sighting of a golden oriole, but you frequently hear their trill and warble and you will be serenaded most evenings by the nightingales.

Children Welcome
For the children we provide a safe haven where they can explore the surrounding grounds, feed the chickens, geese and ducks and play on the activity centre where they will find swings, a ladder and a climbing rope. There is also plenty of room for football, cricket and boules. Why not make up a team with the kids next door? The private terraces are fully fenced with a secure gate to allow little ones to play outside while the grown ups relax indoors. A small portable paddling pool and sandpit is available for the toddlers. The new addition to our 'family'- Dizzy the pot-bellied pig is waiting to greet you.
