The immediate area
Fishing is allowed in the Grade A river at the side of the property. The area is surrounded by beautiful countryside with fantastic birds and wildlife and of course the sunflower fields for which this region is famous. With plenty to do and see in the local neighbourhood - market days, festivals, cycle rides and forest walks or canoeing/kayaking on the River Boutonne. For the artist in you the gardens surrounding your Gite and the river are ideal for sketching or painting.

The local villages
Dampierre: Your nearest village, is a short drive away from your cottage and has the advantage of a village shop, a Boulangerie for your fresh baguettes and croissants and Boucherie.
