excellent local facilities - shops selling fine Limousin produce, restaurants and the
swimming lake /beach/play area. This unspoilt region of France is ideal for families,
groups of bird-watchers, artists, canoeists, walkers, cyclists - In fact anyone who loves
being outdoors and surrounded by nature.

The owners welcome you!
The owners of Vacances Vertes les Belles, Howard and Anna Chambers have lived in St Germain les Belles for over 2 years. They both live just 10 minutes walk away and are on hand to help all of our guests have a wonderful holiday, whether it is with the language, where to visit, what local festivals are on, or help with shopping. We can offer evening meals for a minimum of 6 guests. There are however, many local places where we can order delicious local meals for you to takeaway and 'eat in'. They are now happy to call this unspoilt region of France their home and are confident that you that you too will be charmed by the beauty of the scenery, the abundance of wildlife and the warm welcome of the local villagers. Choose from 6 stunning bedrooms...
The house has recently been restored to incorporate 6 double / family sized bedrooms, all with original oak flooring, central heating and decorated in fresh neutral colours. The house can sleep a maximum of 14 people and all beds can be used as doubles or singles, depending on the requirements of our guests. Should groups or families require, we are happy to add a 3rd single bed into two of the rooms, at no extra cost. Travel cots can be provided, also free of charge. Please discuss any room requirements with Anna Chambers and we will do our best to meet your group needs. Five of the rooms have their own private ensuite shower-rooms (one with bath) with heated towel rails. The large ground-floor bedroom and bathroom are fully accessible for wheelchairs.

The homely kitchen and the cosy lounge!
The homely kitchen is fully equipped to meet all of your culinary needs, whether you choose to prepare your own meals or would rather we provide them for you. We like to encourage a relaxed, informal environment - perfect for convivial conversation around the large kitchen table. You will find a large gas oven and hob - useful for groups who wish to cook and eat their food together. There are also all of the other utensils / facilities that you would expect to find in a modern kitchen - dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, ample amounts of crockery, pots and pans... Adjoining the kitchen is the comfortable lounge, where guests can look out onto the peaceful Limousin countryside. Here you can relax in front of the satellite television, or chat to new friends in comfort. There is also a log fire - great for reading a book in front of on a chilly winters' evening. Step outside..
Imagine yourself relaxing on the terrace on a warm summer's evening, drinking the local wine and gazing at the lovely countryside beyond the house... or waking up with the early morning light and doing a spot of bird watching from your own back garden... or just playing with your children on the safe lawn area... We consider ourselves a 'Child- friendly Holiday Destination' - being a young family ourselves, we understand the pressures (and pleasures!) of taking the little ones on holiday. We can provide some of those 'bulky' items that are difficult to pack for a holiday (travel cots, high- chairs..) - just let us know what you need when booking. Limousin has been called the 'French Lake District' but it has a beauty and charm all of its own. It is incredibly rural and peaceful with magical scenery. There are few busy roads, a huge network of meandering country walks, rolling hills, forests, lakes.....

Location
35 km south of the 'capital' of the Haute-Vienne - Limoges - the village of St Germain Les Belles is conveniently located just 10 minutes drive from the A20 (junction 42), the main route from Paris to the south of France. Our nearest airports are Limoges (40 minutes) and Bergerac (2 hours) and both are accessible through Flybe and Ryanair from more than 10 UK regional airports. The village of St Germain les Belles boasts many facilities: 2 friendly village bars / restaurants serving local plats du jour and a la carte meals. 2 local general grocery shops selling everything from fresh fruit and veg. to quality local cheeses and wines. High quality butcher who sells locally raised meat; 2 Boulangeries - live the dream of having warm croissants for breakfast!; 5- hectare village lake and sandy beach; The beautiful 14th century medieval village church. Residential Environmental Course Programme
We feel that the Limousin is the perfect base from which to run courses that focus on the environment. Not only are we surrounded by beautiful countryside but also by many communities who, to some degree, really do 'live off the land'. By celebrating our environment in some way, we aim to inspire and encourage learning in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Course prices include: All accommodation* All tutoring* All tools* Evening 4-course meals at Vacances Vertes les Belles (oone evening meal will be taken at a local restaurant)* Picnic / buffet lunches* Hearty breakfasts to set you up for the day* All food will be (where possible) locally bought, sourced or grown at one of the carefully selected work sites. **"Organic Vegetable Gardening"** Four day course (1 'free day'), with 6 nights full-board accommodation.
